Club Build Planner

Estimate swingweight and whole-club MOI before assembly, measure completed clubs, or plan adjustments.

Before you start: measurements and example values

The prefilled values are an example build, not measurements of your clubs. Replace them with your own measurements before using the estimate.

BBGM means bottom of bore to ground measurement: the distance from the bottom of the shaft bore to the ground line. Use the specification for your head or measure it; do not assume it is the same for every club.

Shaft balance point is measured from the butt end as a percentage of shaft length. Use the shaft specification or a measured value. If a value is unknown, treat the result as an illustration rather than a finished build specification.

Swingweight planning from components

Measure swingweight with a scale and ruler

Measure from the edge of the grip cap. A few grams or about 1/8 inch of balance-point error can move the result by more than one swingweight point.

Plan a swingweight adjustment

Whole-club MOI planning from components

Measure whole-club MOI with a pendulum

Mount the club at the butt and time many complete cycles. Dividing a 40–50 cycle measurement is much more reliable than timing one swing.

Plan a whole-club MOI adjustment

All results are estimates. Actual values can shift with shaft mass distribution, head CG, lie angle, insertion depth, epoxy, adapter and grip installation.
