How much does more MOI really gain you?

Compare the gains in ball-speed retention and the changes in flight as MOI increases. In these comparisons, distance gains are subtle, while changes in shot curvature can be much more noticeable.

For shot curvature, more isn’t always better. Face bulge and gear effect work together to shape heel and toe misses. Reducing that curve can move the landing point farther from the target, so the best MOI depends on the face design and where you strike it.

MOI: 3,000–5,000 g·cm² in steps of 500. Each test holds the other axis at 4,000.
